Clydesdale Colt, Tristan, dies from resistant bacterial infection

Busch Gardens Williamsburg announced very sad news this morning. The newest animal addition to the park, Tristan, passed away last night at 8:30pm. Tristan was the first Clydesdale to ever be born at the park.

According to park officials, Tristan’s death was caused by a resistant bacterial infection. Tristan was born on April 5th, 2011.

“Tristan was under veterinarian care from the the time he was born. From the moment we thought there was an issue with his health, we transported him to an off-site veterinarian facility that was prepared to deal with any health issues. His death is unfortunate, and he will be missed”, said Jay Tacey, Busch Gardens manager of zoological operations.

This is a sad day for both fans of the park and those who are employed at the park. Our condolences go out to anyone who has met the little guy, helped to name him, and those who interacts and cared for him on a daily basis.
