First unofficial Gay Day at Busch Gardens Williamsburg kicks off tomorrow

“Gay Days” have been a long standing tradition in the Gay and Lesbian community at Orlando area parks since 1991 when the very first Gay Day kicked off at Walt Disney World. Since then it has grown into a week long celebration in the Gay community encompassing many Orlando area theme parks, and hotels. The idea according to the official Gay Days website came about as a day to “wear red and be seen.” It’s in that spirit that the first Gay Day at Busch Gardens Williamsburg has been started.

The event has garnered a ton of support through Facebook, and hopes to simply bring the GLBT community together.

Invite all of your friends (gay and gay friendly!) and let’s kick off the summer together with a community-sponsored day at the park with great food, great beer, and great rides (the roller coasters)!

Participants are encouraged to wear red shirts to show their pride.
This is NOT an official event sponsored by Busch Gardens Williamsburg or it’s sponsors. Just like Disney, the park has not officially stepped up and offered sponsorship, or any special discounts.Nor have they stepped in and tried to stop the event from happening.
