Epcot Food and Wine Festival grows for 2012

What happens when you’re named “Best Food and Wine Festival of 2011”? If you’re Disney you make 2012 even bigger. That’s precisely what will happen later this year when the annual celebration of culinary delights hits Epcot in September. The event will run from September 28th to November 12th, making it the longest celebration to date. However, the changes don’t stop there!

This year Food and Wine will include two all new Marketplace booths. For those on the vegetarian side of the plate there will be the TERRA Vegan marketplace. All entrees will be made in traditional Vegan manner, no animal or animal products at all.

There will also be the Florida Marketplace, which will take Florida favorites and add a new twist. Here’s hoping for gator tail, swamp cabbage and key lime pie!

In addition to the new marketplaces, there will also be a special VIP Marketplace tour in which Marketplace chefs will host walking tours of the marketplace. Guests will be able to sample five different marketplace items, as well as five beverages…including alcohol. This will take place every Wednesday.

Other things happening are cooking demonstrations, The Party for the Senses with celebrity chefs, and Disney’s Dessert Discovery. In addition to that the Eat to the Beat concert series will be returning. Each concert is free with paid admission, and the artists will perform three times nightly.

Here’s the lineup:

These concerts are free with Epcot admission, and take place three times per evening (5:15pm, 6:30pm, 7:45pm).
