Soundstage 44 demolition continues, major work begins in Amity

A couple weeks back, Universal Orlando filed for demolition permits on Soundstage 44, which was a rumored house location for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights event. Demolition on Soundstage 44 began last week, and still continues into this week.

Not much of the soundstage remains, but I’m sure there is still a lot of work to be done before any kind of construction can be started. We’re talking stuff like removing debris and doing any kind of ground work such as fixing lines. As you can tell in the photo above, there’s not much of anything left of Soundstage 44.

Here’s even more construction photos:

Across the park, major work in the old Amity/JAWS section of the park has started. We spotted a crane in the park yesterday afternoon. We couldn’t tell what they were working on, or what they were lifting, but this tells us the park is getting ready to go vertical with construction.

The park also had these fun characters wandering around the area with swim gear and an umbrella. One of them was asking guests if they knew any tips on how to stay cool.

Hey, that’s a big pile of dirt… I wonder what they’re going to do with it. Here’s even more construction photos:

Well, it’s hard to tell at this point what will become of the old Amity/JAWS location and Soundstage 44. Hopefully Universal Orlando will be making an announcement soon.
