Disney is taking things to a new level with MyMagic+, FastPass+, and MagicBand

As part of the NextGen project, Disney has announced some details on what guests can expect to help enhance their Disney experience. Whether you like to plan your vacation down to the minute, or you’d like to get your “must-see-attractions” done first thing, Disney has something to offer for everyone with what will soon be rolling out across the Walt Disney Resort.

MagicBand

A couple of weeks ago, we posted a short video snippet of FastPass+ in action at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. FastPass+ is part of the MyMagic+ system, which will be rolled together in it’s entirety with MagicBand to create one awesome experience.

MyMagic+ is a website and a mobile application that will provide guests who are planning their vacation the latest information on what Walt Disney World Resort has to offer. Through this, guests can make dining reservations, reserve times for rides, attractions, and shows through Disney’s enhanced FastPass system, FastPass+.

With Disney’s exsisting FastPass system, guests approach a booth with their ticket, insert the ticket, and it prints another ticket with a time to come back later. Not only do you have to worry about loosing it or getting it wet, it also creates more paper waste. Disney’s response to eliminating the paper FastPass tickets is FastPass+, which is used through a wristband called MagicBand.

MagicBand will serve as a guests room key, theme park ticket, and access to FastPass+, PhotoPass card, and an optional payment account all rolled into one wristband.

Stay tuned for more information on MyMagic+! For more information about Walt Disney World, visit the official website.
