The hotel was built for kids, so it was only appropriate that kids should open the all new hotel. The hotel boasts 152 rooms, all themed insanely with Lego Pirates, Kingdom, Adventure, or (for the first time ever in the U.S.) Lego Friends. The all new hotel kicked things off with a very cute story, in which the Dragon who protects the realm, left his luggage at the hotel, but forgot his key.

The hotel itself is aimed directly at kids, and is the perfect compliment to Legoland Florida. It also completes the Legoland Resort as a mult-day destination for families.

“LEGOLAND Florida Resort is continuously expanding, making it an awesome place for families with children to stay for multiple days. The addition of LEGOLAND Hotel makes that possible,” said General Manager of LEGOLAND Florida Resort Adrian Jones. “The hotel is a fully immersive experience, with a number of exclusive features unique to LEGOLAND Florida Resort and we’re excited to welcome families to stay and play with us for the first time in Florida!”

While the prices for the Legoland Florida Resort start at $219 (depending on season and room type) the hotel does feature a huge list of amenities that rivals several major Orlando theme park destinations.

Here’s just some of the many amenities, included in your price at Legoland Florida hotel:

  • Full buffet breakfast
  • Exclusive Master Model Builder Sessions
  • Early Resort admission
  • A Treasure hunt in every room, complete with LEGO® prizes!
  • Nightly LEGO® building competitions
  • Nightly entertainment
  • Boardwalk on Lake Eloise

It is also the only hotel on a theme park property that is close enough to walk, without exhausting your energy for the day. How close?

It’s 134 kid steps from the front door, to the gate of Legoland Florida. No buses, boats, monrails, trains, or cars to wait on.

The rooms are also pretty roomy, for the layout, and features enough room for five guests. While there aren’t any doors on the rooms (except the bathrooms), the areas do offer enough privacy for mom and dad to relax, away from the kids. Each room features a king sized bed, with bunk beds, and a trundle bed that pulls out below for the kids. Each room also has two flat panel televisions, and even the bathrooms are themed. The biggest surprise, is that there are at least six Lego models in each room, and yes…you get to go on a scavenger hunt to find treasure!

The park isn’t open 365 days a year…yet, which is something that Legoland General Manager Adrien Jones says is coming…eventually.

“There’s no rush. We are already open eight more days than last year. It will be a gradual process.”

That does leave hotel guests with no access to Legoland Florida for several days each week. However, with the pool, the interactive kids play area, and the master builder sessions in the hotel, there’s enough to keep kids entertained for days. There are also two restaurants, Bricks Family Restaurant, and the Skyline Lounge. The Family Restaurant is a buffet style eatery, while Skyline offers more “upscale” menu options, as well as cocktails for adults…and mocktails for the kids.

If you do want to get away, buses are available from Legoland Florida, to the other Merlin attractions at I-Drive 360, and back.
