Fans of Jimmy Buffet need to get ready to waste away again in MargaritaVill…age. MargaritaVillage will be the huge new Jimmy Buffet themed resort, and waterpark, which is slated for an early 2017 opening. The all new complex will be located on the site of the old Splendid China park.
The all new project will be located just west of Walt Disney World, and will feature an all new MargaritaVille themed hotel, shopping, condos, timeshares and a 12 acre waterpark.
It will all be themed to Jimmy Buffet’s MargaritaVille, so guests can expect a relaxed atmosphere. The new area will consist of 200 hotel rooms, 437 vacation-rental homes, 300 timeshare units and 340 apartments. The waterpark and hotel, as well as 2,000 square feet of retail space, are planned to open by the first half of 2017.
The waterpark will be open to not only guests at the hotel, but also locals as well.
Splendid China operated for just under 10 years, and closed in 2003. The park still remains, but much of the props, and areas have been vandalized heavily.
