Disney to End Long-standing Disney Dollar Program

Sad news has come out for Disney collectors and fans alike and the announcement was made that Disney would no longer produce or support the Disney Dollar. For those unfamiliar with Disney Dollars, they were a unique currency very similar to actual money, where varying amounts would feature different attractions and could only be redeemed and used at Disney parks.

There was something oddly magical about a currency only valid at Disneyland (or any Disney parks). As times have changed and money has become digital, so have increased use of gift cards which Disney blames as the primary reason for ending the program. If you happen to have a large collection of Disney Dollars sitting around they are still valid, the company states that it’ll only stop producing and selling them.
