George Lucas pays tribute to Carrie Fisher at Star Wars Celebration

Star Wars Celebration kicked off in a massive way in Orlando on Thursday as members of the Star Wars cast gathered for a reunion. George Lucas, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Billy Dee Williams all gathered on stage to talk about the impact Star Wars had on the world and their lives.

Harrison Ford even made a surprise appearance, which was largely kept a secret. George Lucas joked “Which is crazy, because you landed your plane on I-4.”

“Fly? Yes. Land? No!”
As the cast went off stage, Lucas and Kathleen Kennedy came back on stage to pay tribute to Carrie Fisher, along with the help of her daughter Billie Lourd.

We dare you to try and keep a dry eye during this tribute.

Fisher died late last year after a heart attack. Fellow Star Wars alumn, Kenny Baker died earlier in a he year, and Fisher’s mother Debbie Reynolds died four days later.

It’s only fitting that the tribute included David Bowie’s Rebel Rebel, as Fisher definitely was a rebel and a person of her own making.

She will always be our favorite princess.

Fans can see her this December in The Last Jedi, and possibly in the next Star Wars installment, Episode IX. Her brother says that Leia will return in the next installment.
