New concept art revealed for Portobello replacement at Disney Springs

Just this past weekend, Portobello at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World closed it’s doors for good. It’s going down for a long refurbishment that will have the restaurant evolve into an all new Italian concept at Disney Springs.

“We’ve been grateful to serve our loyal guests at Portobello for the last seven years,” said Andy Lansing, President and CEO of Levy Restaurants. “We look forward to welcoming our guests back to the location early this fall when we unveil a new concept at Disney Springs.”

Levy Restaurants today unveiled a new piece of concept art for the restaurant, and a few tidbits on what to expect from the new menu when the restaurant reopens.

The concept art seems to take away the closed off, exclusive feeling, and instead opens it up for a more welcoming atmosphere. That seems to go along with the new food choices as well, as James Beard award-winner and Top Chef Master, Tony Mantuano, is leading the development of the restaurant.  The new restaurant’s menu will feature dishes inspired by Chef Tony’s adventures across the many regions of Italy. There is no word on an exact date for opening, but it is scheduled for a Fall 2017 opening date. There’s also the matter of the name. Will it still be Portobello, or an all new name to reflect the new direction?  Stay tuned to find out!
