Howl O Scream films new commercial in Tampa and teases new house!

If you follow Howl O Scream on Snapchat, you’ll get the chance to see some cool behind the scenes stuff. Of course, at this point it’s all just teasing, but there were some interesting tidbits. Last night the crew at Busch Gardens Tampa were filming the commercial for this year’s event. The centerpiece is going to be Motel Hell, one of their new houses for 2016. The house is great, and it’s going to be even better with some small changes to it.

It’s one of three houses that ahve already been announced for the event.

Motel Hell, Unearthed and Death Water Bayou. Those three are great houses and will be making huge returns. What about something new? How many new houses will there be? We don’t have anything solid, but the SnapChat said they would give us a sneak peak at one of the new houses. New houses…that means more than one.

Here’s what we saw:

It’s not a lot to go on, but that looks like the covered event area in Gwazi field. That space is usually a tent structure that has housed Circus of Superstition for the past few years. If that’s the case, then we can expect a new house in Gwazi field for 2017. But what?

Another snap confirms, yes, that’s Gwazi field.

So, to recap, we have:

  • Motel Hell
  • Unearthed (probably sans Scarlett again)
  • Death Water Bayou
  • New House in Gwazi Field

That still leaves Zombie Containment Unit (the zombie shooting house), The Black Spot and Zombie Mortuary. We could see any of those three replaced. Honestly, last year was a big improvement for Zombie Mortuary, and with the death of George Romero…one more year would seem a fitting tribute. Black Spot was amazing and should stay, but Zombie Containment Unit is just too time consuming and will be a skip for us if they bring it back again.
