‘The Tropical Hideaway’ Dining Experience to Replace Aladdin’s Oasis at Disneyland

This news has surely been a long time coming for fans of Disneyland. The long unused, large Aladdin’s Oasis space which has had premiere real estate nestled between The Jungle Cruise and Walt’s original Tiki Room attractions in Adventureland is finally being re-imagined into an immersive tropical restaurant and we couldn’t be more excited about the potential.

Aladdin’s Oasis was originally the Tahitian Terrace stage which featured lively entertainment, fire dancers and dining options in the early days of the park. As the park started to age, certain areas were ‘lost’ and this included the Tahitian Terrace. In an attempt to liven up the area Disney rethemed the corner of the park and nestled a small Aladdin themed show and meet and greet in the mid-nineties but that was also a short lived venture as well. Through the 2000’s to today Aladdin’s Oasis sat mostly empty, used as a flex space for AP events, Mickey’s Halloween Party and on rare occasion an overflow dining area. With Star Wars Galaxies Edge opening early next year the park will need to take advantage of every available inch of space in the park to accommodate the ginormous incoming crowds.

So it was announced this afternoon via The Disney Parks Blog that the area is being once again redeveloped into ‘The Tropical Hideaway’, an immersive tropical themed restaurant that overlooks The Jungle Cruise and Tiki Room attractions.

Calling all adventurers! There will soon be a new area of Adventureland to explore at Disneyland park.

The former Aladdin’s Oasis will soon be transformed to The Tropical Hideaway! This new experience will soon appear along the tropical shores nestled between the Jungle Cruise and “Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room.” This one-of-a-kind destination will be a popular rest stop for Adventureland locals and weary explorers alike. Guests will be able to rub elbows with their favorite skippers in an exotic traders’ market, featuring all of the sights, sounds and flavors of the tropics.
